The Samoyed Club Of Victoria Inc was formed in 1944 with the aim of fostering and promoting the Samoyed Breed through public exhibition and education.  It is affiliated with the Victorian Canine Association Inc.

News Letter

The Club Newsletter "Snow Courier" is published four times a year for the months of January, April, August & October, containing news and views relating to all aspects of the breed.

All owner/s of the Samoyed applying for the "Award Of Merit" must be financial member/s of The Samoyed Club Of Victoria on submission of this application.

By Law 11. TITLES.
(a) The SAMOYED CLUB OF VICTORIA. Inc shall present a plaque for the first title in each discipline to pure bred registered Samoyeds owned, shown and/or trialled by members in recognition of gaining a title as specified by Dogs Australia. The plaque, engraved with the owner's name, dogs name, title and year of obtaining title, are to be given after confirmation of the title is made in the Dogs Victoria Gazette or documentary evidence in the form of a Title Certificate or letter accompanying same to be produced to (3) three members of the Committee present at the same.
(b)  Requests must be applied for no later than 3 months from the date of issue on title certificate.
(c)  Plaques may be purchased by qualified members at the discretion of the COMMITTEE.
(d)  Further awards may be purchased in all disciplines must be applied for under the criteria in By Law 11 and will be awarded at the Committee's discretion.

APPLICATION FORM FOR A GRAND OR SUPREME CHAMPION

REVIEW OF SUPREME AND GRAND CHAMPION AWARDS.
At the special meeting held on 23 July 2026  the following motions  were put to the meeting and carried.
MOTION: That the Club pay a maximum of $100 towards either a Grand or a Supreme title award (one or the other, not both), excluding Neuter titles; to be reviewed in 2031.
MOTION: That a Supreme or Grand Neuter title can be awarded provided a (non-Neuter) Grand or Supreme title is not already held by the dog, and that the Club pay a maximum of $100 towards that award; to be reviewed in 2031.

Application for a Grand/Supreme Championship Award to be applied for in writing to the Trophy Steward within 6 months of the title being gazetted.

GRAND OR SUPREME CHAMPIONS.

A reminder to members.  When you have qualified your dog for a Grand or Supreme Champion title, you will need to submit your filled in application form to the Trophy Steward,
Bernadette Lawton. 

All owner/s of the Samoyed applying for a "Grand or Supreme Champion" recognition award must be financial member/s of The Samoyed Club Of Victoria Inc and only those points gained after the owner has become a member of the Samoyed Club of Victoria will count on submission of this application.

Meetings

The Annual General Meeting and election of office bearers is held on the fourth (4th) Thursday of July.

Meeting notices are published in the Snow Courier.

Puppy days and members competitions

Instructional and enjoyable days are held for owners of pet, show and obedience Samoyeds, including grooming and ring craft demonstrations.

Annual Championship Show and Parade

The Club holds an annual Parade and a Championship Show every year.  Details for these are published in Upcomng Events.

Sled Team

The Club participates in social and charity functions at Christmas and throughout the year.  Members with or without their dogs, are welcome to take part in these activities which always provide an outstanding attraction.
